That brisk, Autumn wind is beginning to blow in. You know that wind, it’s far too harsh for a light sweater, but not yet strong enough for our Winter coats and parkas. Well, this season many mankind is battling the arrival of the cold weather with a more definitive Fall piece, the turtleneck. Several Fall 2014 collections featured turtleneck sweaters as a staple piece. From edgy, contemporary aesthetics to minimalistic and classically rustic – there are many different styles represented in the array of turtleneck sweaters. A few notable labels to catch onto the trend are Fendi, Versace, Christopher Kane, Saint Laurent and Kenzo.

Turtlenecks are one of the most stylish ways to stay warm, so it’s become a go-to piece for men that want to fight the elements while making a chic statement. After building up steam over the past few years, dramatic turtlenecks were in full swing on the Fall 2014 runways and have made their presence known in stores as well. Dress fine knitted variations up by paring them with a blazer — very Halston — or sport it more casually on its own. When selecting the right sweater, it’s essential to look at the thickness of the knit , the weight of the sweater, and the material. Some sweaters may be too bulky to wear with other layers, while others demand layering to stay warm. This is true for styling a turtleneck as well. To pull off this look, less is more. Never layer too much over or under the turtleneck. Just grab a pair of jeans and a classic biker jacket to complete a perfect, laid back look.
