Thankfully, with a more conscious world we’re starting to live in, people have become more mindful of their surroundings and environment. Anyone can choose to be a healthy eater. The question falls on who’s equally aware when they’re pulling beauty products off the shelf at their favorite cosmetics counter? Our skin is just as important on the outside as our bodies are on the inside. With these vegan-friendly beauty buys, you will no longer depend on the toxins that you once thought were a necessity to your everyday life.

Skincare | Josie Maran effortlessly boasts about its eco-friendly status. Being 100-percent organic, you will have the run of the mill of a variety of products to try without having to worry about damage or reactions to toxins. Begin with the Argan Sugar Balm Body Scrub (animal-friendly so it won’t leave those nasty plastic beads), follow with the Argan Whipped Body Butter, and you can even use Bear Naked Wipes at the end of the day to get rid of your makeup. How’s that for efficient shopping at one location?

Foundations | Everyone has their foundation preference. But that doesn’t mean that you have to compromise on its vegan-status. Choose from NARS Sheer Glow Foundation, Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation, Cocoa Powder Foundation from Too Faced, or Kat Von D’s Lock-It Foundation.

Makeup Goods | What’s the point in covering your face in animal-friendly foundation and skincare if the rest of your makeup isn’t as environmentally aware? To add a touch of color to your eyes, try Bare Minerals READY Eyeshadow 4.0, which, luckily, is not tested on animals or a hint of color to your lips with Kat Von D’s Studded Kiss Lipstick – she’s all about the environment. Finish your palette with one of those cute little Tarte Cheek Stains to add a hint of blush.

There’s nothing quite as luxurious as slipping into a soft terry cloth robe. It’s apparent that designers got the memo because this season one of the hottest trends is robe-inspired pieces. Of course, these are not the robes you’re used to. Givenchy, Thakoon, and Public School, have all jumped on board with the look of the moment, and once you see how fabulous the pieces are, you will too. As Riccardo Tisci’s tenth year with Givenchy, the designer was sure to deliver, and that he did. The spring collection was filled with black and white variations, including the designer’s own take on the robe trend. Reminiscent of the boudoir trend from a couple of seasons ago, Tisci’s pieces were sexy yet elegant. At Thakoon, things were a bit more on the playful side thanks to a varying color palette and fun prints and fabrics; none of which happened by accident. Citing “new bohemia” as inspiration, Thakoon Panichgul purposely filled the collection with pajama-inspired pieces, resulting in chambray robe coats that are nothing short of amazing. Over the past couple of seasons, Public School designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne have focused on producing pieces that have dimension and fluidity, which is perhaps why robe-inspired pieces fit so perfectly into their collection. In spite of a black and white color scheme, the trendy robes in the collection were totally versatile and included a wide range of looks, from sexy to sporty.

There are several key factors to successfully pulling off this look. The first thing to remember is fabric selection. Look for less bulky fabrics, such as silk, in order to avoid appearing as if you are wearing an actual robe. Second, the fit is very important. If the robe is way too big, it will look sloppy.
