The matte lip is definitely taking the beauty world by storm and becoming an iconic look. The opaque lip manages to make any face pop with a pout. It’s sexy, bold, and leaves your lips feeling silky smooth without the glossy, sticky factor. Besides, it can last all day without truly rubbing off. Before application, moisturized lips are an absolute must. Use Rosebud Perfume Co. lip salve — available in a variety of scents and tints — to smooth and hydrate lips to prevent any feathering. Next comes the addition of color. Depending on your hue and preference, you can add a lip liner. This will keep your lipstick from smudging, while giving it a defined sculpted look. For the brighter, more daring colors, a liner will also ease a clown-like appeal. The NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil is nothing short of being absolutely amazing. It glides on — literally — like velvet. There are a number of colors to choose from and can be paired with any lip color to add a gradient effect. It will truly provide the sexy factor to your matte lip. For more moisture, try Smashbox Be Legendary Matte Lipstick. Your lips will continuously feel silky smooth. If you’re considering a deeper, more opaque hue, opt for a paint. Seriously, Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick is the clear winner here. The color is so deep, each shade is definitely worth trying. After one swipe, the color lasts all day without wiping off. It will actually feel as though you’re not wearing anything at all. Finally, maybe you don’t want to spend extra time searching for new lip colors, after investing so much in the collection you already own. Completely understandable. Transform any glosses or non-matte lipsticks with the Smashbox Insta-Matte Lipstick Transformer. Yeah, the world is really that amazing that this product exists… and actually works. Dig in your makeup bag and pull out your favorite lipstick. Use just a small application of the Transformer and you’re good to go. No need for a entirely new lipstick set, just yet.

The Tribeca Film Festival is one of the centerpieces of the New York film scene, cardiology
and impacts box office trends in the coming year. Aside from a bit of controversy around Robert DeNiro’s selections, the Tribeca Film Festival is already generating excitement, acclaim and a newfound appreciation for some of the stars we all know and love–and others we may have forgotten.

The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea

The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea | Front-and-center this year is The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, a drama about the journey an architect and a homeless teen take across the Atlantic. The film features Jason Sudeikis and Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams. Jessica Biel also stars, but her role doesn’t end on-screen. The actress produced The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea and enlisted her husband Justin Timberlake to write the score. Now, how’s that for a blockbuster?

First Monday in May

The First Monday in May | The Met Ball is the height of fashion each and every year; if any event is worth reliving, it’s this one. The First Monday in May documents the work leading up to 2015’s unforgettable China: Through The Looking Glass event. Beyond what it has to offer for serious fashion aficionados and museum enthusiasts, it’s the perfect film to generate more excitement for this year’s Gala. Plus, seeing Anna Wintour command a room is always worthwhile.

All We Had_Hollywood Reporter

All We Had | Late 90’s TV actresses aren’t letting Hollywood let them go this year–Jessica Biel isn’t the only one making noteworthy films. Katie Holmes makes her directorial debut with All We Had, in which she plays a single mother battling homelessness and addiction. It’s a heavy drama based on the eponymous book by Annie Weatherwax. It’s an ambitious for Holmes, and it’s already earning her plenty of praise.

ElvisNixon

Elvis & Nixon | Yes, you read the title correctly. This movie may sound too odd to be true, but it’s based on an actual meeting between the controversial president and the legendary musician. It happened in 1970, in the White House. Kevin Spacey (who knows quite a bit about controversial presidents at this point) and Michael Shannon star in Elvis & Nixon, which is co-written by Cary Elwes. If nothing else, this film is a surefire conversation-starter, and the premise is too bizarre not to investigate further.
