There’s been a lot of buzz about Beyoncé’s latest album Lemonade. Through its artistic journey, bronchitis
we experience heartache and triumph, steroids
only showing that life will prevail despite whatever comes our way. Again, about it
Queen Bey has managed to show her amazing marketing techniques using only social media to advertise her projects. And not only has our love for the music continued, but we also discovered a newfound fascination with lemons. Seriously. We’re all about this lemon-life.

For those who are absolutely into wellness and natural products, we can definitely turn any household lemons into a beauty cabinet of life. If you’re looking for a great face mask, mix a tablespoon of lemon juice and a teaspoon of organic honey with one egg. The lemon will naturally brighten your complexion and remove excess oil, as the egg and honey will smooth your skin. Let sit for about 15-20 minutes and refrigerate any of the mix that is left for your next at-home facial.

To create a lemon-based body scrub, pour a cup of granulated sugar into a cute jar. Add a cup of coconut oil and squeeze in the lemon. The sugar is the perfect natural exfoliant, coconut is great for the skin, and the lemon will refresh your body as it does with the face mask. For a thicker scrub, simply add more sugar.

To moisturize nails and soften cuticles, mix a little olive oil with lemon juice. Soak your nails as you would at the salon to strengthen them.

Still feeling zesty? By all means, make a cold pitcher of lemonade as you bask in the results of your natural beauty routine.

Looks like stepping into the summer season will be a lot easier this year, thanks to the resurgence of another 90s trend – the thick-soled sandal. Fashion meets comfort like never before with the return of this type of footwear and the proof is on the runways with brands, including Rick Owens, Burberry Prorsum, and Kenzo. At Rick Owens, the spring 2016 collection was all about focusing on the strength of women and how they carry one another – a concept that was brought to life by models sashaying down the runway carrying other models. The thick-soled sandal was the perfect footwear choice for the show’s concept, proving the shoe of the season to be both stylish and practical. The spring 2016 Burberry collection has been described as a “mishmash of techy sportswear and delicate vintage-inspired evening wear” and the thick-soled sandal went with all of it. Whether adorned in bulky chains or embellished with emblems, Burberry proved that the chunky sandals of 2016 are a far cry from those of the 90s. Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, the designers behind Kenzo, presented a spring 2016 collection based on “endless summer vacation vibes.” With their most recent show, the designers aimed to help the modern, well-travelled woman put that fun vacation vibe into her everyday wardrobe, which was achieved by taking a fun, light-hearted approach to summer dressing, comparable to that of young 20-somethings on the festival circuit. The collection was filled with knits, geometric pieces, modernized 90s bodysuits, and chunky sandals. Even better, Kenzo’s thick-soled footwear is equipped with reflexology footbeds – making the sandals truly luxurious.

Ready to step into comfort and style? This trend is super easy to pull off, as it goes with just about anything. Pair your chunky sandals with a sundress for a sporty edge. The sandals of the season also make the perfect statement piece. When your look is on the minimal side, the sandals are a great addition. Going a bit more casual? Chunky sandals also go great with those comfy boyfriend jeans we all love so much.
