Narragansett has a very modern and unique hotel… The Break. The Break is the only boutique hotel in Narragansett. The Break is managed by Lark Hotels, which are located in the most desirable locations around the country. A few popular destinations of Lark Hotels are Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Lark hotels says, “Our Narragansett hotel’s interior design is a key part of our ‘vintage beach community’ brand. While our furnishings and features embrace Narragansett’s seaside vibe, they also tap into the surfer nostalgia of the late 60’s — when local surfing legend, Peter Pan, burst onto the scene and put Narragansett on the map. Mid-century flare blends with bold, modern textiles to create a Narragansett hotel that is fun and hip, but also warm and welcoming.”

When you first drive up to The Break it doesn’t look as fancy. It looks more like a house than a hotel. Once you enter through the doors into the lobby, it’s a whole other world. The first thing that actually caught my eye was the beautiful fish tank along with the wisp of fresh ocean air. Upon entering, there is a lovely front desk clerk to check you in. After checking in, she gave us an iPad filled with everything you will need from restaurants to activities. To your left, there is a cute little jewelry and clothing boutique store. To your right, there are checkers/chess tables with other little seats and a fire place. Towards the back of the lobby is one of the most talked about restaurants, Chair 5, which partakes in dinner and complimentary breakfast/brunch on the weekends. Through the restaurant doors, sits a heated pool with tables, tanning chairs, and a bon fire that you can turn on at night. The hotel has 4 floors, with top floor used as a rooftop bar and a patio. Seats for dinning are available, as well as couches and television’s in the corners for lounging. The only thing about the rooftop bar is that it closes quite early — 10 pm — so you would want to grab your last drink before then. Hotel amenitites include, but are not limited to:

  • Spacious suites and rooms with super-soft linens
  • Casually hip onsite restaurant, Chair 5
  • Outdoor heated pool with sun deck and pool-side recliners
  • Rooftop cocktail lounge with dramatic ocean views
  • Fitness room
  • Spa and salon
  • Impeccably designed fireplace lounge
  • iPads loaded with local information
  • Heated bathroom floors and vanity mirrors
  • iPod docking stations
  • Apple TV
  • Guestroom fireplaces
  • Free wireless internet
  • Beach bags and chairs
  • Waffle Kimono robes
  • Guest hospitality centers with refrigerators
  • 24-hour front desk services
  • Complimentary daily housekeeping services
  • Personalized concierge services

I stayed on the 3rd floor in the suite with a ocean view room. The room had a fridge, balcony over looking the ocean, fireplace, heated floors in the bathroom, a regular shower along with a waterfall shower, two sinks, led lighted mirrors, a king size bed and a pull out sofa bed with 2 TV’s etc. The room was both beautiful and unique. The hotel had everything you would possibly need. From the food to the drinks to the rooms and service, it was exceptional. The Break should definitely be your next go-to hotel during your stay in Rhode Island, as it sure will be mine.
