At first, there I only purchased this 24 karat gold flake infused Guerlain L’Or primer because it struck me as the Goldschläger of makeup. To me, cialis wearing gold on your face seems like a superfluous and futile venture in a world, link where climate change is threatening human existence and political turmoil runs rampant more oft than not… But this is all before you realize that you haven’t bought it to wear gold on your face. You’ve bought it for the idea of wearing gold on face. Which is a marvelous one.  Also, like some people run to Church or a bottle, I tend to run to Sephora.

At the time, I didn’t know I was buying a product with a cult following that has been replicated (but never duplicated) many times. Guerlain is hands down the mother of the gold flaked primer – not hard to believe when they hold status as one of the most deeply trusted houses in luxury cosmetics. The French perfume house was the first to do it, and in my humble opinion also the best to do it. The gold flakes in this primer dissolve into the perfect shimmer that is never chunky or glittery. Just a good smooth finish that is most importantly clean looking. You may still be slightly perplexed, asking yourself – “Is it NECESSARY that I apply liquid gold onto my face daily?”

It just might be. This formula, from my experience, immediately hydrates and awakens the complexion upon application. Dew is trending. We’re living through a moment of dewy faced beach babes – a haloscope highlighter invasion when I flip through beauty editorials and all I see is wet gold (and it makes me want to combust with joy, by the way). So, if there was ever a time to get on the Guerlain train – this is it.

And if you’re working with a lower budget, you have options! Yves Saint Laurent makes a slightly more affordable alternative, and NYX cosmetics has also created their version of L’Or. Try one or try them all – wherever your allegiance lies, don’t die without anointing that face of yours with some twenty-four karat excellence.
