The queen of sequins herself teased us in more ways than one as we patiently waited for the Metalmorphosis 005 Kits by Pat McGrath to become available on November 15th – the brands biggest launch yet. First on the runway, using the then unnamed and unmarked 005 kit on models like Gigi Hadid at Versace and Margiela shows before the kits were even available –talk about creating a void in the market.

We were taunted again with these Instagram videos from Mcgrath of cascading ultra-pigmented cream swatches that no one could stop watching or reposting (Watch here: / So when the day came for the highly anticipated kit to be released, it felt like Christmas for the beauty world.

Celebrating the one year anniversary of Mcgrath’s first ever product launched – Gold 001 – she brought back that unreal pigment (in case you missed it) along with it’s three new “sisters,” Silver, Bronze and Copper. You’ll receive all four shades in the original powder formula, but the part that everyone has been freaking out about is the new mixing liquid. Mcgrath herself describes the pigment as “mental” and “insane.” Think of color payoff that not even Mac has been able to achieve in all their years of trial and error, but without compromising texture (butter is the only fair comparison to make).

You’ll also receive the black dual ended marker so you are in no ways lacking everything you need to recreate the look that has now become synonymous with high fashion and cult cosmetics. But take your time, and get it right, because Mcgrath herself has a warning for her cult following – “[You put it on] and then you can’t get it off, I’m sorry. You can wear it for a few nights.”

You can buy the set in one shade ($60) or in all four shades ($165) on Mcgrath’s website – or wait for the launch on, and select Sephora doors, coming today, Nov 22nd.
